Alice was our first baby bump bride who needed an elegant, simple gown to accommodate her growing bump and provide comfort with gorgeous style on her wedding day…
This being our first maternity bridal dress, time was taken to pattern cut a style that suited and flattered Alice’s growing bump, while also allowing room for her to grow into it as the process of creating a bespoke dress drew on. We used a cheap fabric that was a close match to her final choice of crepe in order to get the drape exactly right in our mock up.
A few more fittings than usual were needed to work around this maternity style and during these fittings details were added such as a clean cut low back, satin covered buttons and a little train. All of these details added to the 20’s glamour of the gown that Alice was going for.
Alice had a London wedding where she was able to take stunning photos around some of the famous landmarks. A loop was added to the train of her dress which meant she could dance and move around easily and enjoy every moment of being the beautiful bride she was !
