Kate had a clear vision of a completely backless, form fitting, vintage style dress in silk dupion, with a centre seam slit and an elegant high collar…

Kate had a strong idea of the design she wanted when she came to us, that the development process was simply a matter of finding the exact silk fabric she had in mind, with a vintage slub running through the texture of the material. It was important it was 100% silk so that Kate can dye the dress after her wedding day and wear it again! A mock up was made to her measurements after deciding on the design features she liked best from all of her ideas and fit impeccably to her body.

During the fitting process, we decided to reduce the size of the centre front opening as the back was already exposed enough for Kate’s comfort. We then lowered the back waist to create a diamond shape across her body. A long time was spent at the studio during this fitting to make sure the fit was absolutely perfect before we went ahead with final materials.

A beautiful ceremony in a Dalston church followed by an outdoor reception on a sunny day in June was the perfect setting for this stunning bride and her bespoke gown (paired with Gucci heels to die for!) She even found a savvy way to tuck it up above her knees to allow her to dance the night away!
